Alan was founder and CEO of Conservatree Paper Company(1976-1993), the leading distributor of recycled paper, and founder and CEO of ASDavis Media Group (1999-2008), a publisher of more than 40 travel guidebooks. But his lifelong interest has been wealth inequality and tax policy. Alan did his senior thesis at USC on tax policy, continued studying tax at NYU Law School, and in 1974 founded New York Citizens for Tax Reform. Alan is a member of Patriotic Millionaires. As Executive Director of the WhyNot Initiative, a private foundation, he’s launched four projects related to curbing extreme wealth: the Crisis Charitable Commitment, the Excessive Wealth Disorder Institute, Tax the Greedy Billionaires (TGB) and the Extreme Wealth Center (EWC).

Larry Ottinger is a senior public interest lawyer, advocate and philanthropic leader.
Previously, Ottinger served as president of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest; as Director at the Fannie Mae Foundation on affordable housing; as a constitutional and civil rights lawyer with People For the American Way; and as associate at the civil rights law firm of Bernabei & Katz.
Ottinger founded and chairs Advance Maryland and chairs the Ottinger Foundation. He graduated Stanford Law School and clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Walter E. Black, Jr.

Igor Volsky is a seasoned communications expert and advocacy leader with a proven track record in shaping public discourse on critical issues. As the Executive Director of Groundwork Action, Volsky built a campaign that helped produce one of the most successful tax filing seasons in recent history, driving a unique communications and government affairs strategy that built political support for the IRS. At Guns Down America, which he co-founded in 2016, Volsky spearheaded innovative campaigns to reduce gun violence, influencing both policy discussions and corporate practices. His impactful digital activism, such as his viral “thoughts and prayers” campaign, redefined public engagement on gun reform. Previously, as Managing Editor at ThinkProgress and a Vice President at the Center for American Progress, Volsky honed his skills in strategic communications and innovative advocacy, leading the effort to pass and defend the Affordable Care Act from multiple repeal efforts. Volsky is the author of two books, 2019’s “Guns Down: How To Defeat The NRA And Build A Safer Future With Fewer Guns,” which has shaped the national conversation on gun violence prevention, and 2009’s “Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Health Care Reform.”
